Rum Glazed Butter Cake


Auntie Shirley shared this recipe with me after I fell in love the last time she made it. Instead of making a whole cake I split it up into small loaves to give as gifts to some friends. Share the love!
Ingredients:
1 C Butter
2 C Sugar
5 Eggs Separated
1 t. Vanilla
1/2 C Evaporated Milk
2 C Sifted Flour
1 t. Baking Powder
1 t. Salt
Glaze:
2T. Evaporated Milk
1 t. Rum
*Mix and drizzle over warm cake.
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.
Beat butter, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla and milk together. Mix together flour, Baking Powder, salt and add into sugar mixture. Beat smooth. Beat egg whites till stiff and fold into batter. 
Pour into buttered and floured bunt pan and bake for 1 hour.

  1. YUMMO!! I dont know how you can bake while eating such a healthy diet. I dont have the will power to not lick the spoon. Keep Micah away from that Rum! Although it might mellow him down a bit;)
